Designed as the universal locomotive capable of hauling a 750-tonne passenger train at 200 km/h on a 2 mm/m gradient or a 2000-tonne freight train on an 8 mm/m gradient under the two types of electrical power supply available in France (1.5 kV direct current and 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current), the BB 26000 marks a renewal in the SNCF electric locomotive fleet both technically with the adoption of synchronous motors instead of direct current series motors, and aesthetically with a more aerodynamic body. Electric locomotive BB 26056, grey/red livery, "Technicentre Industriel Oullins", ep. VI, with sound decoder.
